How Affirmations Can Inspire Your Retail Sales
Babies crying, arguments with boyfriends, moody girlfriends, buses running late, rude counter people. These are among the things that we deal with before work. When you’re employed as a spa therapist and expected to project a zen demeanor while soothing and calming others, it may be a challenge.
That’s why one of my favorite training tools is affirmation. I encourage spa managers to begin the work day in the same manner. This process resonates well with introverts and my more quiet therapists.
I find a beautiful calm space within the spa, large enough to accommodate the team. I then begin each training with a guided meditation. It begins like this;
“Today is a good day. Today is a very good day. I am blessed to work in a beautiful place, doing the work that I chose and helping people to look and feel better”…
I then have them state aloud their service goals for that day. They also state their intention for selling and determine the amount of product sales by multiplying their number of guests times two.
The process works because it turns a mere thought into a plan.
If you want to increase your sales it’s important to create a psychological line between what happens in outside life and inside the spa. Try guided meditation and affirmations for two weeks. Let me know what happens.
