Anyone who works in beauty, spa or wellness knows it’s highly competitive.  If you’re an entrepreneur,  it can be three times as hard!  I’m an introvert so blowing my own horn is not my favorite thing. But to grow your customer base, it’s critical to keep your brand message out there. For 2019, I decided to kick it up a notch and use marketing’s rising star – video.

I contacted videographer, Jay Billups of JB Creative Media.com . Word on the street was that he specializes in working with entrepreneurs and introverts! How cool is that?

I had such a great non-stressful experience and wonderful results working with Jay that I decided to interview him and share the wealth. You can thank me later.

Linda – Many businesses are already on social media. What’s the advantage of using video?

Jay- Great question. As human beings we have a desire to interact with others and video gives us that opportunity. We look for sincerity and connections; still images and graphics don’t do that well. Video gives you the ability to make a deeper connection with your perspective clients and community.

Linda – So why aren’t more people using video? Listen to Jay’s answer-

Linda – What type of business is best served by video?

Jay- In the broad scope of things, it’s really any business that has clients.

Specifically though, I want to help those who want to stand out in saturated markets. Video can help prospective clients know more about the person behind the business.

For example, if you’re a hairdresser or skincare specialist, or chef, images are fine to show off your finished work, but video can help people understand your process, your personality and how you interact with your clientele. If your business is primarily one-on-one interactions, video can help people get to know you a bit before they decide to make that first appointment.

Linda – I know that you work well with introverts. Why are we different from other clients?

Jay – Because of what we see in other online videos, especially YouTube, people feel like they have to be this very outgoing and overly energetic persona. That alone, will scare off most introverts.

The task seems exhausting or not an energy level, we as introverts, can maintain. We’re all different and we all have our own particular style.

I believe it is extremely important to be your authentic self and that sincerity is what will attract your audience.  I think people put too much focus on the fact that if they don’t behave a certain way some people won’t like them or enjoy their videos. That’s okay – those people aren’t your clients.

Linda – This sounds good Jay, how much will this service cost? Listen to Jay’s answer-

Linda – So, how do we get in touch with you?
