Spa Retail Headaches? You’re Not Alone!
Last week in Deauville, France I presented on the topic of Spa Retail Sales at the Biologique Recherche Worldwide Convention. I had an opportunity to speak with distributors and spa decision makers from over 90 countries. There was a great exchange of ideas but what stood out was that increasing retail sales is still a global challenge.
Product training has never been enough and it never will be.
Stop making it complicated.
Teams that undergo specific training to improve their consultations, customer interaction and listening skills make more money. It’s that simple!
Look at this chart from an international, Five-star hotel spa in the Philippines. The team underwent retail sales training in March, 2018. Red reflects actual sales. Look at the increase from the blue sales in 2017. Yellow reflects what they expected to make in 2018. Was senior management pleased? Absolutely!
Following our program, it is not unusual for teams to double and triple their sales within the first few weeks after training.
Ask yourself these questions:
1. How will my therapists sell more products if no one teaches them?
2. How are other spa managers getting retail results of 25% and higher?
3. How much revenue do I stand to lose by not training my people?
4. Am I being the best manager that I can be by not training my staff?
Maybe it’s time to make a move.
